Overview
Toriyasa is a restaurant located at 136 Saito-cho, Nishiiishigaki-dori, Shijo-kudaru, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. It is easily accessible by a short walk from Hankyu Kawaramachi Station or Keihan Gion Shijo Station, and is positioned just 220m away from Gion Shijo Station. The restaurant offers a seating capacity of 70. At Toriyasa, you can indulge in delicious dishes such as dashimaki (rolled omelette) and kasatsuki (Japanese-style fritters), a flavorful and satisfying porridge, a hot pot of chicken prepared by the staff, delicious fried chicken, and unique-textured chicken senbei (rice crackers). One highly recommended dish is the Nasu-Tadaku (grilled eggplant). The exterior of the restaurant is also charming, and I highly recommend stepping inside to experience the ambience. The chefs at Toriyasa pride themselves on using high-quality ingredients and carefully preparing each dish. In particular, their sukiyaki course is made by simmering the broth for 3 days, resulting in a smooth and refined flavor. Additionally, their special chicken skin crackers have a crispy texture and are incredibly tasty. Moreover, you can enjoy the pure rice sake from Sasaki Kuranojo, which is the family home of actor Kazuki Sasaki. The restaurant building has a history of more than 230 years and is registered as a tangible cultural property. It exudes an old-fashioned atmosphere, and you can feel the traditional charm through the staircase and corridors. There are also private rooms available, making it perfect for entertaining guests or celebrating special occasions. I highly recommend visiting Toriyasa to experience their wonderful cuisine and atmosphere.
