What to Expect
When you arrive in Bizen, you meet your local guide and step into one of Okayama Prefecture’s lesser-known drinking cultures. Bizen sits within Okayama, a city with a concentrated network of walkable bar streets and izakaya alleys that locals return to night after night. Your evening begins at the first district, where the guide orients you to the area and sets the pace for the night ahead.
From there, you move through three separate drinking neighborhoods on foot, stopping at one bar in each. At every venue, you order drinks and food from the menu, settling your tab directly with the bar before moving on. Your guide leads the route between districts, keeping the evening moving and pointing out what makes each pocket of Bizen’s bar scene distinct from the last.
By the end of the third stop, you have worked your way through three different local bars, each with its own character and crowd.
