Dazaifu
Overview
Dazaifu is one of Kyushu’s top cultural destinations, famous for the Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning. Students and tourists alike visit to pray for academic success. The city also houses the Kyushu National Museum and beautiful gardens. Traditional sweets like umegae mochi are local favorites.
